The Oggi branch of the Exclusive Bretheren strike!

Pictured is a billboard up on Dominion Rd that has a go at City Vision Councillor Glenda Fryer. The lower text reads "Don't vote for City Vision. They're the fun police". Weird.

Several similar billboards have been illegally towed around Auckland by City Vision opponents.

A few comments for the creators of this piece of unauthorised third party attack advertising:

1) Regards from Glenda for assistance with name recognition in her ward.

2) If you guys are the signage experts, what's with the funny, hard to read font?

3) There is this thing called an election happening now. Given you obviously feel so strongly about... well something, perhaps it would be a good idea to stand yourselves instead of personally attacking someone who has the courage to put herself forward. Just a thought.

I thought it was a rather ridiculous billboard, considering whoever made it played into the usual trap that any negative campaigning falls.

However this is all rather petty and ironic in the context of your of your
attacks on RAM in the comments of one of the posts below, Michael. Our slogans are what we will deliver on: we don't focus name recognition and play on voters fears. We focus on hard policy.

No one likes negativity in local elections, on the right or the left.

Hi Oliver. I didn't mean to sound as if we were attacking RAM. Apologies if it came across that way.

From memory I just commented that I wasn't aware of much detailed policy behind the billboard slogans.

Yes it would be interesting to know where one could find out RAM's policy detail - there isn't much on the website...

The font is supposed to look vaguely Soviet. "Don't vote for this left-wing pinko" it whispers in subtext.

Quite nicely done I thought, on purely a design front. Which usually implies some serious money thrown at an agency somewhere.
